Sonic fanfiction – Make your Own Hero: Until now, Sonic Forces has appeared like Sonic Generations two in all but name.
With trailers displaying levels which change between classic side scrolling as well as the 3D view of Sonic’s more contemporary adventures, you can forgive gamers for thinking they’ve played with this all before.
Today, however, Sega has shown a third type of gameplay for Sonic Forces — levels where you command your own customizable hero.
With Sonic’s cast of supporting characters not getting a great deal of love from fans, Sega is throwing down the gauntlet to players and challenging them to perform better.
Players will be able to select one of seven different kinds of animal: wolf, rabbit, cat, dog, bear, bird and needless to say hedgehog.
While these choices could seem like a method to bring fans’ wildest DeviantArtdreams to life, each animal will even offer their own distinctive passive capability.
Wolf characters, as an example, are ready to automatically draw in nearby rings while bird-based personalities are blessed with the life-saving capability to double jump.
Luckily, these levels also present a few active gameplay tweaks, introducing a slightly different take on your standard rapid ring collection.
Instead of merely Sonic’s standard platforming abilities, every loveably crafted mascot can be armed with a grappling hook and gadgets called Wispons.
While the grappling hook allows players to traverse each degree rapidly, Wispons are versatile skills that either you come in the form of weapons or powerups that will enable you to get around.
Everything sounds very Sonic Colors, but from where we’re sitting, that is not a terrible thing.
Sonic Forces is arriving at PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Change this holiday. Let us hope there’s some DLC to help players create the Sega’s ultimate memeing mascot — Sanic.
