The Indian spec model, Renault has unveiled its upcoming SUV (Renault Captur). For an initial booking, bookings of the model have now open for Rs 25,000 with the launch expected in the next month.
With the latest Duster, sharing the successful BO platform, the Renault Captur gets a new crossover design DNA. From its international models, along with the design cues, the company states the overall design to have influenced by the Indian conditions and consumer preferences.

With the best in class ground clearance of 210mm, Renault says the Captur is the widest and longest in its category. Along with the full fenders and the R17 Crystal Cut alloys, the dramatic exterior also features Satin finish front and rear skid.
With the light side indicators, the SUV features full LED headlamps, C-shaped Sapphire LED DRLs and Ripple tail lamps. Over the past two years, SUV sales have grown exponentially, making it the fastest growing segment in India, commenting at the unveiling, Sumit Sawhney, Country CEO and Managing Director, Renault India operations said.
He also stated that “Renault Captur is a globally successful premium SUV and has widely acclaimed for its stunning expressive design, premium and class-leading features and the high levels of personalisation in the past growing SUV segment and will set new benchmarks with its global styling and unmatched road presence.”
Renault Captur comes with both petrol and diesel variants:
With both petrol and diesel powertrains, Renault Captur will come. It will have powered by a 4 cylinder, 1.5-litre engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox for the petrol option. At 5,600rpm, the motor produces 106PS and 142Nm of torque at 4,000rpm.
By a 1.5 litre mill mated, the diesel version will have power to a six-speed manual, delivering a maximum power of 110PS at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 240Nm at 1,750rpm. An automatic AC with surround illumination will have offered along with the company latest Infinity instrument Cluster inside the cabin of the Renault Captur.
Along with the temperature and the time display, the seven-inch infotainment system comes with a navigation system, Bluetooth, voice recognition, maps. There also has safety features that include dual airbags, side airbags, Antilock Braking System with Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control and Hill Start Assist, depending on the trim selection.
And, a Crusie Control, Speed Limiter and two lateral ISOFIX fixtures, this Renault will offer for enhanced child safety.
