The American Video game developer, Blizzard came into the industry almost 26 years ago. The establishment was made on February 8, 1991. The creation of game [ports was what Blizzard focussed initially. Later it got into many other game productions.
There are a lot of successful games from Blizzard in the course of time. Their Warcraft sequels are ‘in high demand all the time. Other famous games from Blizzard are OverWatch, Hearthstone and the Starcraft series.
E-sports Arena from Blizzard:
Blizzard has now announced that they are planning to open e-sport Arenas of their own. It is said that the opening of the Arena will be by next month. Blizzard has announced the opening will be on October 7, 2017. This Arena is situated in Los Angeles. This Arena is said as the “cutting-edge live-event destination.”
Blizzard has said that the arena is for, “pro players, e-sports fans, and everyone else who loves premier competition.”
Upcoming events in the Arena:
The first event in the arena will start on the opening day itself. It will focus on the Overwatch Contenders Season One Playoffs. After the event, the next one will be for Hearthstone Championship Tour Summer Championship. This will happen after the OverWatch event and will start on October 13, 2017. This event will be followed by the Heroes of the Storm and World of Warcraft.
The e-sports Arena:
The e-sports Arena that will be opened by Blizzard is said to be of the 50,000-square-foot studio. This would be the place where Blizzard delivers its live e-sports events year-round.The studio will have around 450 seats. There will also be a quite good floor space depending on the audience crowd.
Also, the Arena will have the basics that are needed. Blizzard is planning to open a retail shop that will have the Blizzard stuffs for sale. The players can prepare for an event here. There will be practising space. Locker facility for the player’s stuff will also be there.
Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime said, “We’re at a tipping point for e-sports and we look forward to helping usher in a new era of competition-based entertainment.”
