Apps crash after syncing iPhone and iPad to Mac based on Apple M1 chips

Some iOS device users have reported an issue that occurs after syncing their iPhone or iPad with Mac computers based on Apple M1 chips. The fact is that in some cases, the applications installed by the user on the iPhone and iPad stop launching after syncing with new Mac computers.

According to available data, third-party mobile apps will automatically close when attempting to launch, making them unusable. It is worth noting that the first reports of this problem appeared in December last year, about a month after the launch of new Mac computers, which were based on the proprietary Apple M1 processor. Since then, such messages have appeared on the official manufacturer’s support forum, as well as in the Reddit community.

Some user posts also say that applications not only stop launching but also do not update. In addition, in some cases, there are problems with installing new applications from the official digital content store App Store.

The source says that the problem affects only some users, and the reason for its occurrence remains unknown. To avoid this issue, users are advised to refrain from syncing iOS devices with new Macs until Apple releases a fix. The hotfix will most likely be released along with one of the future software updates.
