Sridevi Death is Due to Accidental Drowning, Forensic Report of Sridevi – Police in Dubai say they have determined that the death of Indian superstar Sridevi has been caused by drowning in her hotel bathtub after a loss of consciousness. After the celebrity passed away at Dubai on Saturday, first reports said the cause of death was cardiac arrest. The situation has now been moved to Dubai Public Prosecution “that can carry out routine legal processes followed in such cases,” Dubai Police said through its Twitter account on Monday afternoon local time.
Known simply as Sridevi to her legions of fans, the celebrity was 54 at the time of her passing and was in Dubai together with her family to attend a wedding. Her passing was accompanied by an eruption of mourning, and today’s news has sparked feverish speculation over the conditions. A record purported to be a forensic report has made the rounds with the reason for death listed as “unintentional drowning [sic].” When contacted for comment, Dubai Police referred Deadline to its Twitter accounts (see below).
Sridevi featured in almost 300 movies, including classics Mr India, Chandni, ChaalBaaz and Sadma. She briefly retired from the film industry in 1997 after the release of Judaai but made a triumphant return in 2012’s English Vinglish. As a Part of her appeal was that she crossed over languages of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi languages, and was considered among the few Indian females useful at the enormous box office with no male protagonist.
Following the completion of post-mortem analysis, #DubaiPolice today stated that the death of Indian actress #Sridevi occurred due to drowning in her hotel apartment’s bathtub following loss of consciousness.

Preparations are underway in Mumbai for Sridevi’s funeral when her entire body is repatriated from Dubai.
