Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30: At an event on September 11, Xiaomi next generation Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 flagship has unveiled in Beijing following months of rumours. The smartphone has a unique design, a display that stretches nearly to the edges of the phone screen, improved cameras, and a top of the line specifications.
The device succeeds the original smartphone Mi Mix that kicks started the bezel less design trend. Anyway, isn’t the only bezel less smartphone that hogging the limelight of the second generation of Mi Mix.
With the cloud, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30 are the two smartphones giver tough competition to the Mi Mix 2.

Design and Display: Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30
The smartphone Xiaomi Mix Mix 2 comes with metal and ceramic design whereas the special edition design opts for a full ceramic unibody chassis. And the smartphone comes with 7.7 mm regarding thickness and weighs 185 grams.
The front has predominantly screen and very thin bezels as expected from the second generation, Mi Mix. With a lot of cosmetic changes overhead its predecessor, the Mi Mix 2 offers. Similar to the original Mi Mix, the front facing speaker has still on the bottom.
The Mix had a piezoelectric speaker instead of a regular earpiece, but now, that has replaced by a thin bezel in the top bezel. On the back of the phone, there has a fingerprint scanner.
With the Galaxy S8+ and S8, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 shares many of its design similarities offering a nearby bezel less display and a metal and glass design with a built in S Pen stylus. The smartphones have 8.7mm regarding thickness and weighed 185 grams. It is also IP68 certified that stands for dust and water resistance.
Just like the LG previous generation flagship device, LG V30 comes with metal and glass design – G6. Like the Galaxy Note 8, the front has dominated by a full screen, and it sports an IP68 build. The device measures 7.6mm and weigh 158 grams.
And the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 comes with 5.99 inches Full HD display with 2160×1080 pixels resolution and with an 18:9 aspect ratio. To remember, the original Mi Mix had a 6.4-inch display with 2040×1080 and a regular 16:9 aspect ratio.
Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a 6.3-inch infinity display as well as a super AMOLED panel. The Galaxy Note 8 had a Quad HD + resolution with 2960×1440 pixels resolution and an 18:5:9 aspect ratio.
And coming to the LG V30, it offers a 6-inch FullVision display with 2880×1440 pixel resolution and aspect ratio of 18:9.
Hardware and Software: Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has the same hardware you expect from a top notch, flagship smartphone. Either 6GB or 8GB RAM, 64GB/128GB/256GB storage, the device has a Snapdragon 835 processor, Bluetooth 5.0, and a 3400mAh battery also there.
The 6Gb RAM model available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage, while the 8GB variant comes in only 128GB storage. With the MIUI 9 over the top, the Mi Mix 2 runs Android 7.1 Nougat.
And the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 processor, 6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB of storage options and microSD card slot for memory expansion. The phone has a 3300mAh battery running inside the Galaxy Note 8 that has charged via USB Type-C.
With the Samsung own TouchWiz UI on the top, the Galaxy Note 8 runs Android 7.1 Nougat.
The LG V30 has powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, microSD card support. There has a 3300mAh battery that can have charged via USB Type-C. And with the LG UX 3.0+ over the top, the LG V30 runs Android 7.1 Nougat.
Camera: Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30
Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 does not support a dual camera setup on the back. With the f/2.0 aperture, there has a 12mega pixel shooter and a dual LED flash. Also, on the front side, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 comes with a dual camera setup on the rear of the device.
On the rear, there are 12-megapixel dual cameras one of which consists a f/2.4 telephoto lens providing 2x optical zoom, while a secondary camera has an aperture of f/1.7.
And finally, the LG V30 comes with the dual camera with an aperture of f/1.6, and it lets in more light for dynamic shots. To 13-megapixel wide angle lens, the secondary camera has upgraded, and the front lens has 5 megapixels.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 with a 6Gb RAM + 64GB Mi Mix 2 costs RMB 3,299 that is Rs 32,335, the 6Gb RAM + 128GB model costs RMB 3,599 that is Rs 35,275 and the 6GB RAM + 256GB costs RMB 3999 that is Rs 38,196.
Also, the phone with 8GB + 128GB costs RMB 3999 that is 46,057. The smartphone available in China and also available in India soon.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 priced at Rs 65,000 and launched in India later today. Still, it hasn’t announced the release date of the LG V30 in India but comes to India and cost closer to Rs 57,000.
